Iowa VCA Supports Rep. Pat Grassley
IowaVCA supports incumbent Representative Pat Grassley (R) in the upcoming Republican primary race in the new Iowa District #50 (map).
Rep. Grassley is a common-sense legislator who apparently appreciates the difference between companion animals (pets) and livestock and understands that they deserve different protections. If you live in Dist #50 we hope you'll support him in the Republican primary on Tuesday, June 5. Please spread this information to others who live in Dist #50. Donna Amandus for State Senate
If you live in State Senate District #42 (map) in extreme SE Iowa (which includes Henry, Lee, SE Washington and eastern Jefferson counties) please pay close attention to the upcoming elections.
One of the Democratic candidates, Donna Amandus, is certainly an animal-welfare advocate. She cofounded a rescue group just across the border in Illinois and she owns and operates a dog-grooming business. Ms. Amandus is planning a concentrated effort during the weekend of May 12 and needs volunteers, especially in the northern part of the district. Visit her website to learn more, and then please consider donating to, or volunteering with, her campaign. Call 319-470-4881. We really need her in the capitol to be a voice for companion-animals!! The Puppy Mill Problem Puppy mills thrive because we buy mill dogs. Shelter dogs die because we buy mill dogs. How much is that doggie in the window? Way too much. This video captures many aspects of the puppy mill problem. Does this bother you? You CAN make a difference. Be a part of the solution!! Contact the USDA and tell them you want this problem fixed. Call Sec. Vilsack's office at 202-720-3631 or email him at agsec@usda.gov. Keep trying until you get through to someone. We must speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. They need us. |
